.bakery.

in preparation for my bakery which i will open shortly i will be experimenting this weekend. my friend is coming home from taiwan, where she was doing a teaching internship, so we are having a welcome home dinner for her on sunday. i, being a very experienced baker, have been assigned to desserts. i wanted to try something new and exciting so i have chosen the molten lava cake. for those of you who know me know i am not particularly fond of chili's version of this dessert but i am making it anyway. my goal is that it doesn't come out soggy but a nice firm moist cake filled with molten lava aka chocolate. i am thinking about taking a shot at making a few tomorrow in case it doesn't turn out i wont have to serve it to anyone.
i will let you know how it goes.

.Memorial Day Weekend.

Yay for the Holiday. This weekend was so amazing. I am not ready for school to be back but too bad cause its tomorrow.. I have a midterm paper due tomorrow and tests throughout the week. bummer. Friday I went and met my class for the first time. AGHH.. I never knew a 7-8th grader could be so BIG! When I was talking to my coordinating teacher she told me to just be a witch and if they get up in my face get right back up in theirs and if they yell at me yell right back at them.. haha.. it would be a little less intimidating if they weren't twice my size! Anyway I think I will have a good time with them.. I am sure somewhere deep deep deep deep down inside they are sweet kids. On Saturday I went snorkeling at Sharks Cove it was really fun but when we were coming back in we had to go through these rocks. I was leading the way and in between the rocks were we needed to go there were a zillion fish and I didn't want to swim through them so I hesitated. The current was so strong it launched me in the the rock and I got a big hard bump in my leg, it turned black almost immediately :( I also got a little cut on my hand.

(here is a shot of my owie.. I took it today so it looks a little healthier)

After we made it back to shore we went to Kavaroots to get my favorite food on the planet ACAI BOWL. After that everything was better. Then I came home and slept for hours so nice! When I woke up I went to Foodfest. For those of you who don't know what Foodfest it is where all the Clubs from each country make their native food and sell it to raise money for club activities so delicious. I ate some Mongolian beef pie and some Chinese spring rolls so yummy! Sunday was less eventful. Went to church and then worked. lame. Today I went to Mililani and FINALLY saw a movie in the theaters it has been forever! I saw What Happens in Vegas. I loved it, so funny. Now I am procrastinating that Midterm paper that is due tomorrow I wish it was always holiday :p

.New Music.

This is for you Carrie! I decided since tonight is the final show of American Idol I will do my playlist with my favorite people from American Idol! I can't decide who I want to win. Last night I voted for David Archuleta but then I decided David Cooks voice is so sexy and he is a much better entertainer even if his singing isn't as good so I placed a vote for him as well.. We will see 2 hours till show time!

.Relay for Life.

Friday night I participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for life... It was such an amazing experience and I had a lot of fun. I ended up relaying for 4 hours 12 midnight to 4 am crazy I know but our school needed representation and because I was already there I just stayed.. I did win 3 t shirts and a hand sanitizer on a little key ring so cute :D

Syed and I went over to the park earlier for dinner we ended up just eating dessert which was fine with me. I also made some cards at one of the booths.

At 6:30 the crowd was big and there was a lot of enthusiasm..When I was relaying it was mostly cancer survivors and people who were sponsoring, the town had gone to sleep. It was still great though they had a DJ who kept playing music from the 60's and 70's it kept us awake. I am going to post a funny little video of me on the relay track this is around 1 am, hence I was still energetic.. there was the funniest old lady she was a cancer survivor and she was totally into the relay she was dancing around the track at 6 when I went to dinner and she was still wild at 4 am! I wish I would have got her on camera she was hilarious!

.ouch.

So it finally happened.. I had a big crash on the long board :( This time I didn't even care if anyone saw cause it hurt sooo bad. I was crying like a baby. No broken bones though and no scratches on my face so i'm in good shape.. I have been so sore the past couple days though :( I thought the bump on my elbow was the bone at first (the elbow on the left) But it has shrunk so I guess it was just some irritated tissue or something.

.R.I.P.

In loving memory of our dear friend Alanala. Who left his life here on earth at approximately 9:45 this morning. We are unsure of how long Alanala was living with us and sadly to say we aren't going to miss him a bit! He was stuck to the trap sometime between 1 am and 6 am and was put out of his misery by our student custodian who flattened him with a frying pan.. it was our only option. Here are a few images of Alanala's last moments in unit 209... Keep in mind the size of the trap is 12 inches long. He looks much smaller in the photos.
When my unit mate saw this picture she said "He was actually kind of cute, and we so brutally murdered him!" Sad? I don't know..

Don't mind me looking so crazy in my pj's I was so scared to stand so close to our friend so I crouched down on the other side of the wall so I didn't have to see him.. My skin was crawling!
