.i am a total spaz when it comes to holidays.
.im one of those people who want to put decorations up 4 months before the holidays and start christmas shopping as soon as i have an extra dollar. so halloween is right around the corner and i cant wait. my mom has already started making another fabulous costume for me and today i went to cornbellys. talk about the best place to go to get in the halloween spirit. it was a total blast. they have corn mazes..hay rides.. haunted stuff.. story telling.. fires.. slides.. smores.. caramel apples.. everything.. now i am so ready for the holidays its not even funny.

.dieting.

.what is the worst possible thing you could possibly do to yourself?.
.if you ask me.
.its going on a diet.
.i started HCG after seeing my parents phenomenal results.
.all i have to say is how the hell did the do it.
.i was losing good and the diet was fine.
.then i started feeling deprived.

.deprived.
.so i cheated and gained a million pounds.
.today i am beginning a more dedicated version of last weeks diet.

.this week was our lake powell houseboat week.

.it was seriously one of the best lake powell trips ever.

.working at walmart i see a lot. it surprises me how much people allow the public to witness. one thing i see every day is crappy parents. i always want to scream at them and tell them they suck at life but i dont. i just keep it to my self and thank the good lord i got some pretty awesome parents. so in honor of them i will give you 10 reasons why they are the best.
1. they are my biggest fans. anything i do they support me 100% and i am so greatful for that.
2. we watch cheesy chick flicks together and we love them. even my dad. hes a softy.
3. we are the coolest bunch on the block. a neighbor family is trying to be as cool as us by taking nightly walks. keep trying.
4. they are cute. its where i get my good looks.
5. they {love} eachother.
6. they taught us how to act like a family and keep us together.
7. they are still funny/fun even though they are over the hills.
8. they always put others first.
9. they take really good care of me even though i am kinda old.
10. they always buy me a treat when we go to the store. hehe.

.setting up shop.

.today i went to set up/organize my classroom. remember how the school i am teaching at is like a million years old. well in the process of setting up i found that some of the cupboards in the back had not been opened or cleaned out since the beginning of time. i found text books from the 1970's, books that were printed in the 1940's, encyclopedias that were published long before i was even around but my greatest treasures were the game read my lips. just reading the instructions about made me wet my pants {hilarious} and an old watering pail from like the 60's or 70's it is a nice gold color with butterflies. i told the teacher who was helping me that i was going to sit it on my desk all year for decoration. she was like oh no... we gotta take this baby to the antique roadshow. i wish i was awesome and had a picture but i didnt take my camera. next time.

.not much has been happening in my life but i still wanted to blog.

.remember when i said i was done with tests a while ago-well i guess i wasn't-utah has different requirements for licensure than hawaii so in the morning i will take yet another test. i hope i pass.

.other than that i have been mostly playing with the boy in the post below. his name is diego and he is fabulous. and yes. his skin is white and i still think he is pretty cute.

.next week is my moms side family reunion. i am in charge of games and have some pretty exciting stuff planned. stay tuned for lots of pictures.

.so basically today was the worst.
.EVER.
.but the funniest thing happened.
.so i am working at wally world and this man comes through my line. i know i have seen him before but not quite sure where. so he asks me. did you interview with willow creek yet. i mention. nope. but i got an interview tomorrow at 7. and then i ask. do you work at the district. nope. he replied. i am the principal at pleasant grove jr. where i had just interviewed like last week. hah. oops. so because i hadn't heard back from them i said. so i guess i didn't get the job. then he said. actually we haven't decided yet. you are in the top three though. great. i started feeling a little excited. i told him how i didn't feel that confident with my interview and he basically told me i was awesome. which i loved. then i told him. all i want is to get a job in a jr high. he told me not to worry that i would. thank you thank you. so i am feeling pretty good right. well that was untill my next customer came and i went to put something in the bag when i realized this man who i was hoping to hire me had left his avacados. i started panicking. oh no. if i can't make sure the customer gets the groceries back in the cart i am sure he doesn't think i am capable of running a classroom. so i rushed to finish with the customer picked up the avacados and sprinted towards the parking lot. dang missed the guy. so i came back in and felt pretty lame. and about 10 minutes later he came strolling back in. i sorta wanted to hide. instead i met him with the bag of avacados. he then proceeded to tell me i had only charged him for 1 avacado rather than 4. ahh shiz. dang i really suck at my job. i told him he made me nervous and thats why i screwed up. he thought i was funny and said it was his fault. haha.

.first of all i need to wish my amazing sister melanie a happy birthday. again. i was sad i couldn't be there but in one week i will be down there and we will have to do a little celebrating.

. i am in the process of applying for the 2009-2010 school year. there is a job that i REALLY want. its at willow creek jr high teaching in an emotionally disturbed class. i know it sounds crazy but i really want it. when i went in to apply i had a conversation with the principal. this is how it went.

.him. have you ever worked with emotionally disturbed students.
.me. yep. i loved it.
.him. with a very confused look. wow. thats great.
.he then went on and then sent me to the district to get my interview set up. when i got there i had a similar conversation with the district director of special education. hello people i know what i want. so friends pray i get the job. i have applied for about a million bazillion jobs. but lets hope i get the one i want.

.i dont know whether to laugh or cry.

.i know i keep posting stories about my students. but these stories are so funny to me i just can't help it. so today a student from uvu was observing our class to get hours so he could apply for the education program. lucky me huh. so off the bat i am feeling a little nervous. well then the boys come in and we are playing a little phonics game when one of them gets a really uncomfortable look on his face. then he says. i have a digestion problem. and the he tooted. ughh. i pointed at him and said dont ever do that in my class again stinky. and then we all bust up laughing. i am such a good teacher. oh gees.

.lately i have had a serious problem. when my students mispronounce a word and it turns into something funny or naughty i can not stop laughing. today one of the girls said the funniest word. i don't even remember what it was but i started cracking up. i tried to hold back but i just couldn't. then she looked up at me and said (full of attitude) are you laughing at me. the attitude just made me laugh harder. and so i just said yes. i was praying she wouldn't start to cry. and lucky she started laughing too. we both got our giggles out. then i put my teacher pants back on and tried to keep a straight face for the rest of the day.

.thank you so much for granting me more academic scholarship than i actually owed in tuition. it makes all this slave labor a bit more tolerable. it couldn't have come at a better time either.

.so today i got a new car. i love it so much. too bad it was raining today so i couldn't take any hot pictures of me inside. i stole these pictures of the dealership website so they aren't awesome but i guess they are cool enough.

Quizzes Girls Games

.mamma mia here we go again.

.monday night we decided to do our own little broadway show. everyone had about an hour to prepare costumes. lyrics. and dance. to their favorite song from mamma mia. those who don't spend much time at our house wouldn't understand our deep love for this movie. we watch it on average... oh about twice a day. not all the time but when the kids come to town it is always a hit.

.we started the night off with jenny and laken singing i have a dream. it was quite the performance. as you can tell they are in the canoe paddling away.

.mom and dad gave us all awards. jenny got best vocals. laken got best paddler.


.next we were honored to see melanie and cincy sing/dance to honey honey. cincy has mastered the dot dot dot.

.melanie got best actress. cincy was best supporting actress.


.and last but most certainly not least rivers and i busted out dancing queen. i think we got a little more into it than our competitors.

.but it payed off when we won the grammy award.



.we had so much fun. i think the next time they come to town we will do a similar performance to another movie. grease. annie. hairspray. so get your party hats on.

.ahhh hahah.

.by far the funniest thing i have witnessed during my time at the elementary school is my students reaction to their specialty class. which happens to be dance this month. im not talking about bump & grind crazy dancing (of course, it IS elementary school). im talking. bow to your partner. now dosido. and similar moves. they absolutely HATE it. i try not to laugh when they are about in tears when they go. but i just can't help my self when they come back in and moan and groan about touching a boy/girl. these kids crack me up.

.lately.

.monday i started teaching at this school. i loooooove it. the kids are so cute. and so nice. it is definitely different teaching in utah. but it is good.

.someone talented made this cute school bag. i would like to say it was me. but..... it was my mom. she is awesome.

.i am so lucky. my family is so close and i love it. i never really appreciated it until i met so many families who aren't. the holidays have been so great with melanie and jenny and their families in town and mike and jason and their families hanging out. and also. my aunt and uncle came tonight for a sleep over. it is so much fun. and i love them all so much and am happy that we get to spend so much time together.
