.this was our class aid's birthday party. i baked a chocolate cake and my teacher brought some ice cream and we had a party. dont mind some of the students dont look too happy they really were just not ready for the picture i guess. i love my class so much. too bad this is my last week. i finish up this friday. but get ready i am doing a lip sync/dance to "we're all in this together" from high school musical this friday at the school assembly with a few other teachers. get ready for some hilarious pictures and hopefully some live footage. i will also be dressing up for the holidays. i will keep that a surprise.
.is it just me or do i look about 12 in this picture. i really need to get up and do my hair cause pony tails just dont really work. hopefully the humidity will calm down so i can have something other than frizz or ponytail. ps. thanks for the shirt mom i love it.

.ahhhh. after an afternoon off i feel amazing. i had planned to sleep but decided to use up some of my chicken and make nachos. i am the master nacho maker i found out today. i baked them and they were amazing. so i have one week left of teaching at kahuku. i can't believe i am saying this but i really will miss my students. haha. they have been being so sweet lately. the day i came back after exams one of them said. miss i hope you fail your exams so you can stay in our class forever. and they just keep saying how much they dont want me to go. they have also planned a going away party for me which i thought was so sweet. i will definately take my camera and take a ton of pictures. tomorrow i am going shopping for something to wear for my graduation pictures. i am kind of thinking a bright blue maxi dress. hope i can find that or something similar. then it is a girls night in. all night movie marathon with breakfast served the next day. and for harmonie. a picture of the ocean.

.breakdown.

.so my last few weeks of college have proven to in fact be the most difficult. yesterday i studied from 9am-1am yep that is 16 hours. i think more than i have ever studied but i had my last 2 finals today and was kinda worried i wasn't going to pass. i felt sick all day yesterday. it could have been the fact that the day before i ate nothing but otter pops and a little pasta for dinner. or it could be all the stress i am feeling. i have never really felt stressed before. other than minor little things. but this time was bad. i woke up this morning with a major migraine. and started crying as i was walking to take my exams. embarrassing i know. i know i wont fail the class. but for some reason i was panicking. maybe that is why my professor calls me a neurotic overachiever. is that a compliment or an insult. by the time i reached the school of education i had maintained composure and had a big drink of water and felt pretty okay. i think a lot of people were having break downs. there were a lot of bloodshot eyes in the room. and people were kinda moody. so after the first exam i came home and studied for the next one. i felt well prepared and i think i did pretty well. then i had a unit due tonight. i didn't do it. of course we can turn it in this week anytime with no penalty but i can't believe i didn't turn it in on the due date. my motivation is pretty much gone. maybe i need to go shopping or something. or maybe a little mochi icecream. anyway. other things. i am going home in less than 3 weeks now. it feels weird and i actually feel kind of nervous about moving home for good. it will be kind of like starting over for me. blah. i will miss my friends here so much. oh well. it will be fun i am excited to spend time with my family and have 2 new nieces to add to the party. i also borrowed the butterfly effect movie from one of my friends. after i go teach tomorrow i am going to watch it. hope it doesn't scare me too bad. okay that is the end.

.this is the funniest picture of my life. when we were about to take it we were all just doing a random face so as enna was holding the camera she counts 1...2...3... then we all pose and snap. but as she got to 3 we both looked towards the middle and had a really awkward eye contact moment. and we could not stop laughing. dont mind how my neck is like exploding in the picture.

.foodfest.

.tonight was the foodfest at our school. all the clubs sell food to raise money for their activities that semester. me and sarah woo. my old roommate went together.(as usual it was windy)

today. the food was not as good as usual but we still had fun. after trying some nasty things we decided we would get corn dogs. haha. we had to wait forever though cause they were cooking it in the little oven instead of microwaving it. since it took so long they gave us a complimentary balloon thing. i got a cheesy hat and sarah got a little dog. the corn dogs were so yummy when they came out. then we decided to try out the rock climbing wall. i can't believe i actually made it to the top. when i was up there one of my students screamed "woah!!! miss whitney" haha. i don't think she thought i had it in me.

.october 17.

.today was a long fun day. it started off with flu shots. today at our school was flu shot day. only one of my students was brave enough to get one so i took her to the gym. since i was already there i decided i would inquire about getting a shot myself. when we walked in the nurse asks. are you both 8th grade. 8th grade lady. yeah like 10 years ago. so i rolled my eyes and said uhm actually i am the teacher. so she yanked my arm and said oh well you can cut the line. teachers first. so i said well i am just a student teacher and she totally ignored it so i just filled out the form as if i were a district employee and got the free shot. suckers. then i waited for my student. erika. she is 8th grade. when we were leaving we saw an 8th grade boy crying. erika looked over at him and with so much attitude said. ughhh it doesn't even hurt. haha. i couldn't help but laughing.
then it was the kahuku project grad carnival so me and tinni decided to head over and check it out. it was a lot of fun i made tinni go on the blow up slide with me. she was pretty shamed but we were laughing so hard. then i won a mini woopie coushin because i was able to knock down all of the bottles. woot woot.
after we stuffed our faces we rode the bikes back to campus and headed to the womens volleyball game. it was ok but not the most fun i have ever had.
then we went to the midnight madness basketball game. it was pretty fun but this stupid old lady kept snatching all the prizes they threw our way for her son. i wanted to get her after the game but didn't cause tinni had round up most of the team for a picture.
don't mind how off i look in all the pics. remember i have been up since before 6 and had a shot. hehe.

.a little thought.

.i have been thinking how fast time has gone by these past 3 years i have been living/studying here in hawaii. i never really notice until i think about people and how much they have changed and how much of their lives i have missed. it sorta makes me sad but it also had made me appreciate them so much more. today i am thinking about kait. my niece. not to be partial but i must say that she is one of the coolest kids around. well i guess she is not really a kid anymore. before i went to college we faught like....sisters....haha. well to be honest i was just mostly the beast master. but since i have been away and especially since my trip home this past summer i have been missing her a lot. i can't wait to be able to hang out (since she is older now i guess we dont "play") with her all the time.

.for the ward break the fast i thought i would make something halloweeny. so i went to the store and bought the cutest halloween m&m's and made some cookies..i used my favorite mrs. fields cookie recipe. they are so delicious. hopefully they make it to the break the fast before i eat them all. ps. why do i love baking so much.

.so the other day i borrowed a text book from my professor from a class i took last year because a lot of the questions from the Praxis II test come from the information in the book. i didn't want to keep the book too long because he is teaching the class that uses the book this semester so yesterday i started reading the book and taking notes. i probably worked on it about 6 hours yesterday and more than that today. blah. 44 pages of typed notes later and some sore eyes i am done. when i was about to finish up i was siting at my desk with just the light from my computer and i felt something on my arm. i looked down and a little stinky gekko was on my arm. i started shaking my arm like crazy and it flew off. stupid gekko. i dont want to study anymore. haha. too bad i have my finals coming up and the praxis next month. but yay. after that no more studying for me.

.agh.

.so this morning i thought i would be ambitious and go running on the beach before the sunrise. as i was running i saw two of these suckers lying dead on the beach..ewe.ewe.ewe. carrie remember when we thought we saw a snake at sharks cove? it was actually one of these. an EEL. yikes. personally i would rather have a snake. needless to say i didn't feel like studying at the beach today.

.well i have officially finished all my classes at byuh. thursday was the last day. it feels weird. i do have to go take finals on the 21st but no more classes for me.after this next week off i will be going back to my school to teach everyday for 3 weeks and then i am done. pretty weird. this next week i have a lot of studying and stuff to do. but i will sleep in and go to the beach every day. woohoo.
