.this year for christmas i only wanted one gift. a bundt pan. and much to my surprise i got one in the mail today from syed. i was so excited. he also sent a pink wisk. orange measuring scoops. and a knife and spatula serving set. let the baking in style begin. oh and he also sent me my favorite usher perfume. yes i am spoiled. i know.

.it's beginning to look a lot like christmas.

.yowsa. i never knew it could snow so much in one day. i woke up in the midst of a blizzard and it continued through most of the day. my mom and i had to brave the storm to go christmas shopping. it was a pretty successful trip for me i just need something for my dad.
.last week my mom and i went down to st.george/hurricane to see melanie's new baby. (pictures will come). we also got to spend time with jenny and her family. it was a blast. and thanks lakey for giving up your bed.
.our family is growing by the minute.
.on december 2nd jason and angie had another little girl. justice kate. and on the 13th melanie and aaron also had another little girl. brooklyn arin. they are both so adorable.
.i can't wait for christmas and for all the family to be in town. i am trying to convince my sisters to come on christmas eve so the don't get stuck in the monster storm we are expecting christmas day. so jen and mel. if you are reading this. get packing.

.today my praxis II (teacher certification test) scores arrived.

.once upon a time i graduated from college.

.get ready for an extremely long post with a lot of pictures. last tuesday mom dad and i headed to hawaii so i could graduate from college. woot woot. wednesday night some friends and i got together to hang out before we all graduated. here are some pictures from the event.

.thursday night we went to kaneohe. syed and vickie came with us. we got some ruby tuesday for dinner. it was fun.
.here i am at the graduation banquet. it was cancelled thursday because all the roads were flooded. we got 14 inches of rain on thursday! everyone was a little upset because the banquet was $20 and all we got was finger food. what a let down. it was still tons of fun though being with friends.

.president eyring spoke at graduation. he gave an awesome speech. it was a really bitter sweet day. mom tried getting a picture of me shaking president eyrings hand but took it a little late. here i am about to shake the president of the universitys hand.

.leaving graduation..at the hotel with all my leis and gifts from graduation. and mom and dad gave me a hawaiian heirloom bracelet. not pictured here..sunday was the only sunny day. so we decided to spend sometime outside. this was the view from our room..me and syed at sunset beach..mom and i in front of the laie temple..i had such an amazing time. i can't believe i am actually a college graduate. it was so much fun that today i looked at graduate schools. if everything goes well i will teach next year and save some money and go for my masters in 2010.

today kait turned 14!!!! i can't believe how fast time goes. we picked her up from her grandma joans and had cafe rio for dinner. then we had the cake and home made rootbeer. after that the real party began. me kait and riv went bowling. it was so much fun and we stayed out til midnight. we are real party animals.

.today cincy turned two.
.happy birthday cinc. we didn't get to celebrate today but we will be partying for the next week and a half. melanie. aaron and cinc and jenny and her kids are coming tomorrow we are really excited to have them. yay for sleepovers.

.kajsia's bridal shower.

.today was my cute future sister-in-laws bridal shower. it was lots of fun. we started the night off with some yummy soup in bread bowls & spinach salad. then we played some awesome games. i didn't win though :( my cousin forgot her prize so maybe i can keep it and pretend i won. then kajsia opened up her gifts she loved them all. and then we finished the night off with some caramel brownies and icecream. thanks kajsia for marrying my brother so we could party.

.i'm home.

.i got home this afternoon. the flight was long and boring but not too bad i ended up on an exit window seat so i had lots of leg room which was really nice. also no one was in the seat next to me and i loved that. after i arrived my mom had to get to work so we grabbed some food at kneaders and i dropped her off at work then i came home and slept for a few hours. showered. and went to pick my mom up. then we went grocery shopping. then everyone got home and we ate and then i was waiting in my room to play games and next thing i know i am waking up at midnight. ughh. the dreaded jet lag. then i got ready for bed and slid in. NEW SHEETS. i think it was a little surprise from my momma. they are silky smooth. ahh. being home is nice. it was fun to hang out with my mom but i still miss hawaii. already.

.now for the post of the day.

.so basically i never imagined how hard it would be to leave college. since i started packing a few days ago i have been feeling it but today was the worst. it started off with selling off some of my things. then i realized i am outta here. although i did make $25! then at church they called me up and gave me a lei and sang aloha oe. it was sad and i got a little teary when everyone came up to give me a hug. i have a lot of awesome friends here that i am going to miss. the hardest part is i will most likely never see most of them again because they are from foreign countries and will return home when they finish up. despite my sadness i am excited to see my family. there are a lot of exciting things coming up like....mike and kajsias wedding. and mel and angies babies. and just being home will be nice.

.lets just say i am NOT photogenic. after millions of pictures i am having a hard time picking one that i want to send to everyone. i either close my eyes or do something weird just as the flash is going off. oops.

.my life.

.life is pretty crazy. right now so much is changing for me. it is so weird. some good some bad. on tuesday i presented my action research project. aka senior project. it went pretty well. my professor was pretty impressed so i guess that is all that matters. since then i have been just doing some last minute things before i head home. also trying to get in shape for mike and kajsias wedding. haha. not much time. today i took some time to relax and me and syed went to sunset beach. we walked a little ways down on the road to go to the gas station for drinks and then on the way back we found a little part of sunset where there was no one except the surfers in the water. it was so nice but the waves were so big. i was standing in the water just mid-calf and the waves would come up to my shoulders when they came in. it was so much fun even though the current was too strong to actually swim.

.so halloween night had come and syed had no costume to go to the campus party. so after much creativity. a bed sheet. and a few stitches we became.......

.we were sewing from both sides the party was just 2 hours away. so we had to hurry.


.it was so much fun i decided to use the other half of the sheet. so i got to thinking. and decided the black hair had to go. when i was home cleaning up syed cut my costume out of the bed sheet. it was a little short so we had to go with the layered look.


.he hung his half of the sheet up in the tree and went to town painting the thing.

.me and syed at the dance. the theme was nightmare before christmas. it was decorated so cute and was so much fun. our costumes were the hit of the party. pretty good for 2 hours. 1 bed sheet. 1 spool of thread. 2 needles. 2 cans of spray paint. and 20 cotton balls. i think the most fun part of the night was making the costumes.


.but the dancing was fun too. here is me busting out my bed rock moves.

.my final days of teaching at kahuku.

.it all started with us practicing for the school lip sync contest. just check out those awesome moves. i think i will try out for high school musical four.

. i was in charge of the door decorating contest for our class. the criteria was everything was supposed to be made from recyclables. i covered the door in newspaper and painted it so everything minus the tape was recyclable. the students each created a pumpkin for the door. needless to say we won first prize. my students were soooo excited. they were grumbling when i told them what we were doing and said they never win. the first prize was a pizza party. when they announced the winner one of my students looked at me and said "that means pizza party for us miss" and smiled soooo big. dont mess with me i dont lose. hehe. nah actually i let them do whatever they wanted i had to hold myself down so i didn't do it but they did such an awesome job. you could totally tell which teachers let their students help. ours was one of them. haha.

.so my time at kahuku is over. my students and teacher were so sweet. they got me a lei and some gifts and made me the cutest card ever. my teacher had every student say something to me today during class. some of them were crying and i nearly lost it. my teacher did lose it which didn't help my emotions much. i will definately have to come visit the class when i come back for graduation. i am going to miss them so much.

.this was our class aid's birthday party. i baked a chocolate cake and my teacher brought some ice cream and we had a party. dont mind some of the students dont look too happy they really were just not ready for the picture i guess. i love my class so much. too bad this is my last week. i finish up this friday. but get ready i am doing a lip sync/dance to "we're all in this together" from high school musical this friday at the school assembly with a few other teachers. get ready for some hilarious pictures and hopefully some live footage. i will also be dressing up for the holidays. i will keep that a surprise.
.is it just me or do i look about 12 in this picture. i really need to get up and do my hair cause pony tails just dont really work. hopefully the humidity will calm down so i can have something other than frizz or ponytail. ps. thanks for the shirt mom i love it.

.feeling oh so good.

.ahhhh. after an afternoon off i feel amazing. i had planned to sleep but decided to use up some of my chicken and make nachos. i am the master nacho maker i found out today. i baked them and they were amazing. so i have one week left of teaching at kahuku. i can't believe i am saying this but i really will miss my students. haha. they have been being so sweet lately. the day i came back after exams one of them said. miss i hope you fail your exams so you can stay in our class forever. and they just keep saying how much they dont want me to go. they have also planned a going away party for me which i thought was so sweet. i will definately take my camera and take a ton of pictures. tomorrow i am going shopping for something to wear for my graduation pictures. i am kind of thinking a bright blue maxi dress. hope i can find that or something similar. then it is a girls night in. all night movie marathon with breakfast served the next day. and for harmonie. a picture of the ocean.
